Eneridge Awarded CHiLL-2 Grant by California Energy Commission for Clean Transportation Program

[Santa Fe Spirngs, CA, September 13, 2023] – Eneridge, a pioneering leader in sustainable energy solutions, is thrilled to announce its successful award of a significant grant from the California Energy Commission's (CEC) Clean Transportation Program. This grant, totaling up to $24 million, has been granted as part of the Convenient, High-Visibility, Low-Cost Level 2 Charging (CHiLL-2) solicitation, and represents a major milestone in advancing California's commitment to clean transportation, with Eneridge being one of the five awardees.

The primary objective of the CHiLL-2 grant solicitation is to foster innovation and promote the widespread adoption of Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Pursuing a grant, Eneridge has presented a comprehensive plan to construct, manage, and operate 400 high-speed Level 2 EV charging ports, each boasting a 19.2 kW maximum output, as part of the CHiLL-2 initiative, a significant step in advancing California's shift towards cleaner transportation solutions.

Eneridge seeks to facilitate large-scale deployment of Level 2 EV charging stations, utilizing innovative business and technology models that are not only scalable but also easily replicable. Leveraging the power-sharing capabilities of their EV chargers along with the load management ability of their platform, Eneridge aims to optimize utility infrastructure utilization, reducing grid load while future-proofing the system for faster Level 2 charging experiences in anticipation of upcoming electric vehicles that will accept over 11.5kW AC charging.

Eneridge aspires to significantly bolster the EV infrastructure within this large and eco-conscious city, known for its significant population of electric vehicle owners. Upon securing the grant, the partnership will orchestrate the installation of these state-of-the-art chargers in strategic locations, including community parks, business centers, retail hubs, and commuter-friendly long-term parking structures. This endeavor aims to enhance the accessibility of charging points across both disadvantaged communities (DAC) and Non-DAC regions, fostering a greener future and promoting widespread EV adoption.

Eneridge's successful grant award underscores its dedication to advancing clean transportation and sustainable energy solutions. As a company that has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation in the energy sector, Eneridge is poised to drive transformative change in the EV charging landscape.

"The CHiLL-2 grant is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability and accessibility in clean transportation. We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with the California Energy Commission in this endeavor," said Seonae Min, President of Eneridge. "This grant will enable us to accelerate the deployment of Level 2 EV chargers and make significant strides in creating a greener, more accessible future for all Californians."

Eneridge has unveiled plans to own and operate 400 or more Level 2 EV chargers in a strategically identified 1.5-mile radius region in Orange County. This bold initiative aligns perfectly with the objectives of the CHiLL-2 program, promoting high-density charging access while increasing convenience for EV users.
